Multiple Desktops Control Center FAQ NOTE Control Center is NOT compatible with Windows Vista The AIQ multiple Desktops control center is available by clicking Start, Programs, TradingExpert Pro, AIQ Control Center. Creating a desktop - To create our first desktop click on Desktop, New. Name the desktop and click OK. - To add items to the desktop click the menu buttons and size and position the applications. - When you create an additional desktop, repeat the process. - The maximum number of desktops you can create is 10. Desktops that are opened (whether in the background or in focus) require system resources to maintain. Systems with minimal RAM (256MB or less) or processor speed (1MB or less) may become slow and unresponsive as the number of desktops increases. Desktops have three different states and are color-coded as follows Green - current desktop that is in focus and active. Yellow - open desktops that are open and in the background. Red - desktops that are closed. What can be added to a desktop One instance globally You can only have one of these AIQ applications running in a single desktop. You cannot start a second instance in the same desktop, nor can you switch to a different desktop and start it there. Once you start one of these, the application button becomes disabled (grayed out). Data Manager Communications Portfolio Manager Reports MatchMaker Fundamentals Option Expert System Messages MyTrack One instance per desktop These applications are limited to one instance in a given desktop, but you can switch to a different desktop and start a second (or third etc) instance. Once you start one of these in a given desktop, the application button will disable. Switching to a different desktop (in which the application is not already started) will enable the application button. Charts Quotes/Barometer NASDAQ Level II Multiple Instances per desktop You can start as many of these as you want in a single desktop, and have them running in more than one desktop. RTAlerts EDS Closing the AIQ control Center - You can close the control center and all the desktops by clicking on Applications, Exit. You can close individual desktops within the control center by clicking the X in the corner of the desktop button. |
