Can I move my TradingExpert Pro to a network drive and access the program from two seperate PC's?
Back to installation
and Getting Started index
0 TradingExpert Pro can only be run on the PC where the installation occurs, attempts to access the program on a server or network drive from another PC will likely cause a corrupted registration message.

It is possible to share AIQ data directories on a networked drive, the TradingExpert Pro program must be installed on each PC that accesses the data.

The shared drive must also be assigned the same drive letter for each PC accessing the data.

Only the directories \wintes32\mdata, wintes32\tdata and wintes32\grpdata should be placed on a networked drive.

Data paths are modified in the AIQ Data Manager, click on Manager, Preferences change the Ticker Data, Market data and Group\Sector Data Path to the networked drive, click OK.

NOTE: One PC should be designated to update the data each night. Modification of data files by more than one PC at the same time may cause access violations.
