Adding futures to AIQ Data Manager
Back to Data Manager
Entering futures symbols with a space in the symbol Also applies to other non alphanumeric charater in symbol.

Symbol convention for futures with one charater base symbol requires a space be inserted between the base symbol and the month and strike e.g the Corn May 1999 futures is C 0599.

Data Manager does not handle spaces in symbols directly. When adding this type of symbol you will need to use the Alias function.

From the menu of Data Manager, Ticker , New In the Enter new Ticker field, instead of the actual ticker, invent a ticker of your own (make sure this is not an existing ticker symbol).
For C 0599 we could use CORN05.
Select the symbol type 'Future'.
In the Edit Ticker screen, in the Alias field type in C 0599.
Click Ok and the symbol CORN05 will be added to the Data Manager.

NOTE: when downloading historical data, AIQ automatically requests the alias any time the symbol created is requested. When charting this ticker always chart the created symbol e.g. CORN05.

The alias should also be used for any symbol with the following characters
   #    _    !    *    %
